Safer Gatherings, Reimagined
Humans are social beings, and we thrive on connection. In a country like India, gatherings are more than just events; they’re a way of life. From weddings to festivals, even the smallest get-togethers carry emotional weight. But in 2021, those connections came with hesitation.
This app was imagined as a bridge to bring people together safely. By integrating with Aarogya Setu, it combined vaccination verification, real-time crowd monitoring, and event organization into one tool. It wasn’t just about logistics; it was about helping people reclaim what felt lost.
Designing for Safety in an Indian Context
This was more than just creating an app. It was about understanding what safety meant in a culturally rich and highly social environment. Working with two designers and a seasoned UX mentor, I focused on designing solutions that resonated with Indian sensibilities. We streamlined vaccination checks, made crowd density updates easy to follow, and ensured event planning felt intuitive.
India’s dynamic, close-knit social fabric influenced every design decision. The aim wasn’t just functionality but making sure the app felt familiar and easy to use for the people it was made for. Feedback from industry professionals highlighted how the design balanced practicality with empathy, addressing a real need without overcomplicating things.
